§ 13-79. Alcoholic beverages.

  • No person shall possess or consume alcohol beverages on the premises of a park as defined herein.

    Notwithstanding the above division, a bona fide nonprofit organization which has a letter of determination of nonprofit status from the United States Internal Revenue Service may be given a permit to sell beverages of low alcohol content as defined by state law within the boundaries of the city park for the consumption on park premises subject to the following provisions:

    (1)

    The organization must submit its IRS letter to the permit department of the City of Bogalusa.

    (2)

    The organization must obtain a city and state special event permit allowing the sale of such beverages.

    (3)

    The organization will comply with all city and state laws regarding sale of alcoholic beverages.

    (4)

    These events may be scheduled in the park only five (5) times a year. The schedule of available days will be determined and posted by the city permit department.

    (5)

    The parks and recreation commission shall advise the permit department of the recommended available dates.

    (6)

    Any event sponsored by the parks and recreation commission for the direct and sole benefit of Cassidy Park may be scheduled on any day or days required by the park commission.

    (7)

    The provisions requiring the sale of alcoholic beverages applies only to Cassidy Park and no other park or recreation area within the city.
