§ 21-21. Procedure for amendment.

  • The city council may, from time to time, on its own motion or on petition, after public notice and hearing, amend the zoning districts and the regulations established therefor in accordance with the provisions of R.S. 33:4725. Every proposed amendment, however, shall be first referred to the planning and zoning commission for report, and any amendment that has failed to receive the approval of the zoning commission shall not be passed by the city council except by the affirmative vote of three-fifths of the entire membership of the city council.
