§ 2-2. Extensions to boundaries of city.

  • (a)

    There shall be included within the corporate limits of the city all of the Edgewood Addition to the city, as shown by map or plat of the addition on file in the office of the clerk of

    court at Franklinton, Louisiana, excepting there from block two B of the revision of block two of the Edgewood Addition, but including in the corporate limits of the city all of the Edgewood Addition lying and being west of Magnolia Street, and including within the city limits, together with the rest of the Edgewood Addition, all of block one.

    (b)

    There shall be included within the corporate limits of the city the following described area, as shown in the petition filed for extension and the city engineer's survey of same, as follows:

    Begin at the intersection of the east line of Florence Avenue of the L.A. Pierce revised addition to Bogalusa and the north boundary of section 40, township 3, south range 13 east Greensburg district, Louisiana, and run south seventeen (17) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east, which is the east line of Florence Avenue extended, four hundred (400) feet to the point of beginning; thence continue along this line south seventeen (17) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east to a point which intersects the south line of Davenport Avenue of the L.T. and O.D. Richardson Addition extended easterly; thence run north eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes west which is the south line of Davenport Avenue extended easterly to a point five hundred (500) feet east of the Covington-Columbia Road and State Highway No. 7; thence run in a northerly direction parallel and five hundred (500) feet east of Highway No. 7 to a point four hundred (400) feet south seventeen (17) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east of the north boundary of section 41; thence run south eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes east to the point of beginning.

    (c)

    There shall be included within the corporate limits of the city the following described area, as shown in the petition filed for extension and the city engineer's survey of same, as follows:

    Begin on the eastern boundary of the city, at the intersection of the headright line common to headrights 39 and 40, township 3 south, range 13 east, and run in a southerly direction along the present corporate line seven hundred ninety-eight and four-tenths (798.4) feet to a point twenty-one and four-tenths (21.4) feet south of St. Louis Street, thence run south eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes east to the back water line of Pearl River Swamp, thence in a northerly direction along the backwater line to where same intersects the headright line between headrights 39 and 40, thence north sixty-seven (67) degrees west two hundred sixty-four (264) feet, more or less, to where the headright line has a change of bearing and run north eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes west to the point of beginning.

    (d)

    The corporate limits of the city are hereby extended or enlarged in such a manner as to include within the corporate limits of the city, all of the immovable property, together with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto in anywise belonging, located within the following described area:

    Starting at the northwest section corner of section 40, township 3 south, range 13 east; thence east along the section line for nine hundred ninety-eight and nine-tenths (998.9) feet to the east margin of Florence Avenue, the point of beginning; thence in a northerly direction along the east margin of Florence Avenue for a distance of one thousand eight hundred eighty-two and four-tenths (1,882.4) feet more or less; thence in an easterly direction along the existing corporate boundary to a point two hundred (200) feet south of the center of Bogue Lusa Creek; thence in a southerly and easterly direction parallel to the center of Bogue Lusa Creek and two hundred (200) feet therefrom measured at right angles, following the meanderings of same to the point of intersection with the section line common to sections 39 and 40; thence in a westerly direction along said section line to the point of beginning.

    (e)

    The corporate limits of the city are hereby extended or enlarged in such a manner as to include within the corporate limits of the city all of the immovable property, together with all of the improvements thereon and appurtenances unto in any wise belonging, located within the following described area:

    Start at the old iron rod found and located at the intersection of east line of Columbia Street and the south line of Riverside Drive in the city, which stob is located south eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes east fourteen and twenty-hundredths (14.20) chains; thence south ten (10) degrees east twenty-seven and eighteen-hundredths (27.18) chains from the southwest corner of headright 39, township 3 south, range 13 east, and from this old iron stob run south two (02) degrees forty-five (45) minutes east four hundred forty (440) feet to the intersection of the south line of Davenport Avenue and the east line of Columbia Street; thence run south eighty-nine (89) degrees, thirty-five (35) minutes east along south line of Davenport Avenue a distance of three hundred eighty-two and eight-tenths (382.8) feet to the point of beginning; thence south three (3) degrees east nine hundred twenty-five and four-tenths (925.4) feet; thence south eighty-nine (89) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east one hundred seventy-eight (178) feet; thence south ten (10) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east three hundred eighty-seven and two-tenths (387.2) feet; thence south eighty-nine (89) degrees thirty-five (35) minutes east one thousand nine hundred sixty-six and five-tenths (1,966.5) feet; thence north ten (10) degrees west one thousand three hundred thirty-three and two-tenths (1,333.2) feet; thence north eighty-nine (89) degrees thirty-five (35) minutes west along the south line of Davenport Avenue to the point of beginning.

    (f)

    The corporate limits of the city are hereby extended or enlarged in such a manner as to include within the corporate limits of the city all of the immovable property, together with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging, located within the following described area:

    Beginning at the intersection of the east margin of the G.M. & N.R.R. right-of-way and the north boundary of the present corporate limits of the city, the point of beginning: Thence north fourteen (14) degrees east along the east margin of the G.M. & N.R.R. right-of-way nine hundred forty-three and eight-tenths (943.8) feet; thence south thirty-two (32) degrees zero (0) minutes east forty-seven and twenty-seven hundredths (47.27) feet; thence south seventy-four (74) degrees east one hundred fifty-three (153) feet; thence east along east margin of road three hundred forty-six and ninety-two hundredths (346.92) feet; thence south eighty-nine (89) degrees fifty-three (53) minutes east six hundred ninety-eight and ninety-four hundredths (698.94) feet; thence south three hundred ninety-six and forty-eight hundredths (396.48) feet; thence south seventy-four (74) degrees east one hundred fifty-three (153) feet; thence east six hundred ninety-six and seven-tenths (696.7) feet more or less to west boundary of Russell E. Adams Estate; thence south zero (0) degrees forty-five (45) minutes east eight hundred one and four-tenths (801.4) feet to north boundary of existing corporate limits of Bogalusa, Louisiana; thence westwardly along the north margin of the existing corporate limits of the city one thousand eight hundred eighty-one and six-tenths (1,881.6) feet to the point of beginning.

    (g)

    The corporate limits of the city are hereby extended or enlarged in such a manner as to hereafter include within the corporate limits of the city all of the immovable property, together with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto in anywise belonging, located with the following described area:

    A certain plot or parcel of land located in headright number 40 in township 3 south, range 13 east, Greensburg District, Washington Parish, Louisiana, more fully described as follows:

    Commencing at the old corner common to headrights 39, 40, and 41 in township 3 south, range 13 east; thence along old line south eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes east, one thousand ninety-two and nine-tenths (1,092.9) feet; thence south ten (10) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east, two hundred twenty-three and seven-tenths (223.7) feet; thence north ninety-eight (98) degrees forty (40) minutes west, one hundred twenty-three and four-tenths (123.4) feet; thence south ten (10) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east, five hundred seventy-four and seven-tenths (574.7) feet; thence south eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes east, one hundred thirty-six and one-tenth (136.1) feet to the point of beginning; thence continues south eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes east, three hundred ninety and twenty-one hundredths (390.21) feet; thence south two (2) degrees east, two hundred eight and ninety-three hundredths (208.93) feet; thence north eighty-nine (89) degrees forty (40) minutes west three hundred thirty-three and twenty-six hundredths (333.26) feet; thence north seventeen (17) degrees six (06) minutes west, two hundred eighteen and forty-six hundredths (218.46) feet to the point of beginning.

    (h)

    The corporate limits of the city are hereby extended or enlarged in such a manner as to include within the corporate limits of the city all of the immovable property, together with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging, located with the following described area:

    (1)

    A certain lot or parcel of land located in section 22, township 3 south, range 13 east, St. Helena Meridian Washington Parish, Louisiana, measuring three hundred thirty (330) feet on the north and south lines by one hundred thirty (130) feet on the east and west lines being the south portion of the following described property:

    Two and one-half (2.50) acres of land, more or less, in the northeast quarter (NE¼) of the northwest quarter (NW¼) of section 22, township 3 south, range 13 east, St. Helena Meridian, described as follows:

    Begin at the quarter section corner on north line of section 22, being corner common to lot 1 and northeast quarter of northwest quarter, said section 22; from said point of beginning run west on north line of section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run parallel to the west line of said northeast quarter (NE¼) of northwest quarter (NW¼) of said section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run parallel to the north line of section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run parallel to the north line of section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run north zero (0) degrees forty-five (45) minutes west along quarter section line a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet back to the point of beginning.

    One (1) acre of land, more or less, in the northeast quarter (NE¼) of the northwest quarter (NW¼) of section 22, township 3 south, range 13 east, St. Helena Meridian, described as follows:

    Begin at the quarter section corner on north line of section 22 being corner common to lot 1 and northeast quarter (NE¼) of northwest quarter (NW¼) said section 22 being from said point and run south zero (0) degrees forty-five (45) minutes east along quarter section line a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet to the point of beginning; thence turn a right angle to the right and run in a westerly direction parallel to the north line of section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run parallel to the west line of said northeast quarter (NE¼) of northwest quarter (NW¼) of said section 22 a distance of one hundred thirty-five (135) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run parallel to the north line of section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet; thence turn a right angle to the left and run north zero (0) degrees forty-five (45) minutes west along quarter section line a distance of one hundred thirty-five (135) feet back to the point of beginning.

    (3)

    A certain piece or parcel of land measuring one hundred twenty (120) feet on the north and south lines by two hundred sixty-five (265) feet on the east and west lines being located in the south portion of the following described property:

    One and twenty-eight hundredths (1.28) acres of land, more or less, in the northeast quarter (NE¼) of the northwest quarter (NW¼) of section 22, township 3 south, range 13 east, St. Helena Meridian described as follows:

    Begin at the quarter section corner on north line of section 22 being corner common to lot 1 and northeast quarter (NE¼) of northwest quarter (NW¼) said section 22; begin from said point and run in a westerly direction on north line of section 22 a distance of three hundred thirty (330) feet to the point of beginning; thence turn a right angle to the left and run parallel to the west line of said northeast quarter (NE¼) of northwest quarter (NW¼) of section 22 a distance of four hundred sixty-five (465) feet; thence turn a right angle to the right and run in a westerly direction parallel to the north line of section 22 a distance of one hundred twenty (120) feet; thence turn a right angle to the right and run in a northerly direction parallel to the west line of said northeast quarter (NE¼) of northwest quarter (NW¼) of said section 22 a distance of four hundred sixty-five (465) feet, thence turn a right angle to the right and run in an easterly direction on north line of section 22 a distance of one hundred twenty (120) feet back to the point of beginning.

    (i)

    The boundaries of the city are hereby enlarged to include within the corporate limits of the city the following described property:

    Commence at the common corner of sections 9, 10, 15 and 16 of township 3 south, range 13 east, Washington Parish, Louisiana, said corner being the point of beginning; thence north zero (0) degrees fifteen (15) minutes west along old line forty and twenty-five hundredths (40.25) chains to the northeast corner of the southeast quarter (SE¼) of section 9; thence continue north zero (0) degrees fifteen (15) minutes west along old line eleven and thirty-three hundredths (11.33) chains; thence south eighty-nine (89) degrees fifteen (15) minutes west nineteen and seventy-one hundredths (19.71) chains; thence south forty-three (43) degrees forty-five (45) minutes west seven and seventy-five hundredths (7.75) chains to a point on the north margin of State Highway No. 10; thence south thirty-five (35) degrees thirty (30) minutes east along north margin of State Highway No. 10 seven and twenty-two hundredths (7.22) chains; thence south eighty-four (84) degrees zero (0) minutes west to a point on the south margin of State Highway No. 10; thence south eighty-eight (88) degrees fifty-two (52) minutes west eight and eighty-one hundredths (8.81) chains; thence south thirty-five (35) degrees zero (0) minutes east seven and eighty-nine hundredths (7.89) chains; thence south thirty-five (35) degrees zero (0) minutes east seven and eighty-nine hundredths (7.89) chains; thence south twenty-five (25) degrees zero (0) minutes east two and ninety hundredths (2.90) chains; thence south twenty-four (24) degrees thirty (30) minutes east thirteen and one-half (13½) links; thence south fifty-six (56) degrees zero (0) minutes east six and seventy-three hundredths and three-quarter (6.73¾) chains; thence south zero (0) degrees fifteen (15) minutes east twenty-six and eight hundredths (26.08) chains to a point on old line; thence north eighty-nine (89) degrees three (03) minutes east along old line nineteen and fifty hundredths (19.50) chains to the point of beginning.
