§ 2-216. Composition, appointment.

  • (a)

    There is hereby created and established the city commission on governmental ethics which shall consist of nine (9) members. Each city councilmember shall appoint one (1) member and the mayor shall appoint two (2) members. The mayor's appointees shall be city employees. One (1) of the mayor's appointees shall be from the supervisory or management levels and one (1) appointee shall be a union member.

    (b)

    Any member appointed to the commission on governmental ethics by a district councilman shall serve for a period of three (3) years. Those members of the commission appointed by a councilmember at large shall serve for two (2) years and those members appointed by the mayor shall serve for a one-year period.

    (c)

    Any vacancy occurring on the commission shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment for the remainder of the term.
