§ 5-27. Antirabies vaccination required; tag to be affixed to collar; records of vaccination.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep, maintain, harbor or possess any dog in the city, unless such dog, if it is over three (3) months old, is vaccinated with antirabies vaccine by a licensed veterinarian and a tag evidencing such vaccination is affixed to the collar or harness or kept in a safe place by the owner or keeper. The record of vaccination shall be produced upon demand of any police officer or officer of the department of health. The licensed veterinarian shall furnish to the police department a copy of the vaccination record of all dogs, housed, or kept or boarded in the limit of the city including the name and address of each owner or keeper of every dog.
