§ 5-40. Police department dogs; interference, mistreatment, injury.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to wilfully or maliciously torture, torment, beat, kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill any dog used by the police department, in the performance of the functions of the duties of such department, or to interfere with or meddle with any such dog while being used by the department or any officer or member thereof in the performance of any of the duties or functions of the department or of such officer or member.
