§ 6-124. Homeowners.

  • (a)

    Nothing herein contained shall prohibit any bona fide homeowner from personally installing the electrical conductors or equipment within his own home provided that the owner shall file with the electrical inspector approved plans and specifications; satisfy the electrical inspector as to his ability to install electrical wiring; apply for and secure a permit; pay the required fees for permit and inspection as prescribed for contractors; do the work in accordance with the provisions hereof; apply for necessary inspections, and receive a certificate of approval.

    (b)

    Personal installation under these homeowners' rights shall be by the owner himself, for himself, on his own personal property, without compensation, and no person shall be employed to assist him in any way on such work.
