§ 6-61. Qualifications, appointment, term of office.

  • (a)

    There is hereby created the office of electrical inspector. The person chosen to fill this office shall be of good moral character; shall be possessed of such executive ability as is requisite for the performance of his duties; shall have a thorough knowledge of the standard materials and methods used in the installation of electrical equipment; shall be well versed in approved methods of construction for safety to persons and property, the statutes of the State of Louisiana and ordinances of the City of Bogalusa relating to electrical work, and any orders, rules and regulations issued by the authority thereof, and the National Electrical Code; shall have at least five-years experience as an electrical inspector or in the installation of electrical equipment, or in lieu of such experience, shall be an electrical engineer with at least two-years practical electrical experience.

    (b)

    The office of electrical inspector was filled by appointment of the commission council in the first instance. The person appointed to such position shall receive by way of compensation a salary to be fixed by the city within its discretion, and such person shall not thereafter be removed from office without just cause.
