§ 8-10. Election of officials.

A.

The 1978 elections for the offices of mayor, members of the council and city prosecutor shall coincide with the elections for members of Congress, and subsequent elections for municipal officers shall be held on corresponding dates every fourth year thereafter.

B.

Should the legislature provide by general law applicable to the city another date for holding of elections for municipal officers, such date shall prevail.

C.

Persons elected under the provisions of this charter shall take office at 12:01 p.m. on January 1 next following the election.
