§ 12-74. Notice to abate nuisance by advertisement.

  • The mayor may divide the city into several weed and/or grass cutting areas, the number and limits of which are to be established by the mayor. The mayor shall notify the residents in those areas by advertisements to appear for two (2) consecutive days in the official journal of the city, advising all property owners and tenants or other occupants within the designated areas that any vacant lots, vacant places or vacant areas or other property, within such designated areas having grass or weeds exceeding the height in section 12-73 or other obnoxious matter, growing thereon, must be cut and any deleterious, unhealthy or obnoxious matter lying or located thereon shall be cleaned or removed by the city within ten (10) days from the date of the second advertisement mentioned herein unless cut, cleaned or removed by the owner, agent or other person in control of such vacant lots, vacant places or vacant areas or other property.
